Transforming the Tricycle: Community Cafe

One of the Tricycle’s priorities is to remove the obstacles that prevent the theatre from being accessible to all.

We plan to refurbish the front of the theatre, adding a cafe which will double as a community space and performance area. There will be a glass frontage making the theatre more open and transparent to its surrounding community, improving the Tricycle’s prominence on Kilburn High Road.

There will be full disabled access, and provision of a universal WC, for everyone’s use. Recycled
building materials with low environmental impact over their lifetime will be used, with emphasis on heat retention with suitable glazing and insulation. This supports the theatre’s overall environmental policy which includes reducing energy and water consumption.
