Transforming Winchcombe Museum – Provision of a Disabled Lift and DDA Toilet, Winchcombe Town Trust, Gloucestershire

Winchcombe Town Trust operates a local museum in the old town hall – currently promoted as a “police and folk museum”. The Trust is pursuing an ambitious project to create a heritage centre celebrating local history. At the moment the collection is entirely displayed on the first floor to which the current access arrangements are entirely inadequate – up steep stairs that discourage visitors and volunteers alike. Within the ground floor works, the applicant is seeking funding to install a basic lift, and (because this will displace the existing basic WC) create a new DDA compliant WC on the ground floor.
