Tree Planting in South Park, Redbridge

South Park is a large Edwardian park in London Borough of Redbridge. The park has an impressive mature tree stock, but sadly many of these trees are now reaching the end of their natural lives and having to be removed due to health and safety concerns or disease.

Trees for Cities are working with the London Borough of Redbridge and the active community group, South Park Users Group to plan and deliver an extensive tree planting project. We will consult with local residents and park users to chose thirty locations for new trees. Local people will also be involved with planting the standard trees through a series of volunteering events.

These new trees will make a significant difference to sustainability of the tree stock in the park and help to ensure it’s place in the local community for many future generations.
