Tree Sparrows on the Edge

Tree sparrow numbers have declined in the UK in recent decades and are now on the Red List for endangered species. This pilot project based in 3 Angus locations and involving the local community. It will bring groups of people together to make nest boxes and provide education on the differences between tree and hedge sparrows. Nest boxes will be placed in participants gardens and they will be invited to monitor the boxes during the breeding period and record whether the boxes are used and by which species. Data will be collected and reported on via the Tayside Biodiversity e news bulletin and other social media facilities.
