Treverton Estate green roof project

Creation of four green roofs on garages in a tower block estate in the deprived area of North Kensington. The aim is to support biodiversity in an area that is mostly concrete and plain grass. The living roofs will encourage local species, creating a breeding ground for insects and a foraging ground for birds. The project will employ a local social enterprise to deliver the project , in consultation with the Council’s TMO. A consultant from Living Roofs.org will advise on planning and installation. The benefits to biodiversity will be monitored and assessed. The project works within the Council’s biodiversity plan, the House Sparrow Action plan and the Black Redstart Action plan
