Trumpington Meadows, Cambridge: Many Routes to Nature

Many Routes to Nature will bring nature to life in a new 58ha country park next to the River Cam and a new development of 1,200 homes. We will sow a wildflower meadow, plant hedgerows and an orchard, and restore a pond, and interpret this landscape for the widest possible audience, through:
– A Rainbow Reflection Garden, dedicated to Lord Lewis, former Chair of the Veolia Environmental Trust, offering a space for quiet personal thought amongst reminders of Cambridge’s literary links to nature;
– A fully accessible trail with an exciting range of features, including wildlife artworks and installations, welcome boards, interpretation panels, Views of the Past photograph panels, murals, benches and walkways carved with wildlife symbols, and a Wildlife Words Wall created by local people;
– A Trumpington Meadows app to enhance and unite the on-site features, guide visitors around the reserve, suggest activities, give extra written and audio interpretation and inform about events and volunteering opportunities.
