Projects / Tullie House Roman Garden

Tullie House Roman Garden

The project aims to complement the wider visitor experience at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery by improving the existing space, providing Carlisle with a well-maintained and accessible historic garden; a serene space in the centre of the city with access for tourists and residents.

It will provide a historic reference, whilst adding value to the museum as a visitor attraction, featuring plants used, for example, for their medicinal qualities in the Roman period. It will serve as an outdoor space for activities and events that will be reflected in the increased use of the grounds by visitors from both the local area and from futher afield.
