Turning the Corner – Hyde Park Corner Phase III – The North Bowl

This application is for funding to assist the delivery of the final phase of landscape improvements following works to the southern bowl and the processional route through Wellington Arch. The aim of these works is improve the presentation of the northern area of Hyde Park Corner in conjunction with the separately funded proposals to build a New Zealand Memorial in 2006. The proposed works will include new gravel paving, widening footpaths, grass seeding and grading, new seating, the removal of a flight of three steps, new tree planting and hedge planting. The aim of the project is to improve the setting of the various memorials, create a pedestrian environment in which people will linger and to reduce the adverse affects of traffic noise and pollution
