Two Sides of the Triangle’ Project (Fackenden Down)

The ‘Two Sides of the Triangle’ project will build upon the Ibstock Cory funded ‘Extending the Darent Triangle’ project and bring two highly significant areas of chalk grassland into improved conservation management. Practical conservation at Magpie Bottom and Fackenden Down will extend and restore threatened chalk grassland habitat, and improvements to the grazing infrastructure at both sites will ensure that the Trust is able to more effectively manage wildlife at these reserves for years to come. Project work will also contribute to Kent Wildlife Trust’s strategic goal of reconnecting and improving the ecological integrity of the ‘Darent Triangle Living Landscape’, which lies within the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
