Twynholm Village Path

Twynholm Action Group have been trying to create a footpath link from Twynholm to the road at Ashlands avoiding the busy A75 (see map). This link would create a safe round trip walk. Twynholm Action Group are currently working closely with Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Stewartry Access Officer who has assisted in negotiating purchase of a strip of land from the landowner to allow the footpath project to go ahead. A stock proof fence will be erected and school children will be involved in planting native shrubs and small trees within the boundary of the fence. This work builds on the success of the creation of a community garden in Twynholm and the extensive community consultation carried out some years ago which demonstrated support for the garden and the creation of more footpaths.
