Understanding Wild Gloucester – Alney Island

Work we have undertaken in Gloucester suggests people are generally happy with their open spaces but require more interpretation/leaflets. We hope to do this in 3 ways. 1. Interpretation boards. 2 Leaflets/maps For large complex sites these will aid navigation as well as increase peoples understanding 3. The Gloucester Botanic Garden: this is a community driven project whereby the whole of the open spaces in Gloucester become part of a Botanic garden complete with plant labels and background information. Volunteers with a basic understanding of Ecology attach labels to plants in open spaces. The labels are printed plastic A5 displays that give the reader basic information with a QR code attached so that more information can be gleaned
