Underwood Community Garden/Green Space

The site is adjacent to Underwood Community Centre set on a large estate, mainly given over to Local Authority Housing, five miles east of Newport. The site for the garden/green space was formerly an outdoor swimming pool; the pool area was filled in some ten years ago and the ground has become unsightly and in need of regeneration. This project has been ‘driven’ by the young people of Underwood with the aim of enhancing the area for use by the community and it is they who have contributed to the design of the new garden/green space under the supervision of the Area Youth Worker.
