United Reformed Church, Hayling Island – Community Workshop (006344)

The Men’s Shed is a community association for the wellbeing of mainly retired men, although women are welcome to join.

It is a centre comprising of a workshop and a quiet/meeting room. In the workshop informal learning can take place by the sharing of tools, resources and skills. Members can work on their own projects or get involved in projects that will benefit the community generally. Activities in the workshop will include woodturning, woodwork, model making, furniture restoration. In the quiet room less physical activities such as art, computing or just meeting up with other members for a chat and a cuppa.

Membership has more than doubled despite not having an operational work shop.
