Up & Away! Upgrading Unreliable Disability Access and Storage Lifts

This project is about enabling JCCG to offer more projects and services, more efficiently, for more people, at its Bewick Centre base, optimising spatial capacity, and maximising inclusivity for our mobility impaired and/or older users. Replacing our two outdated and unreliable mechanised lifts, one for disability access and the other for storage access, will have exponentially beneficial value. High quality reliable replacements will ensure greatly improved access across three floors. The current situation where our mechanised lifts are outdated and unreliable is affecting our ability to deliver efficient services and to expand delivery to include additional projects and services that the community has expressed the need and aspiration for. Some people with various mobility issues are feeling discouraged from taking part in on-site activities due to concerns around ease of access.
