Updating and Refurbishment of The Thomas Memorial Gaze Hall

Built in 1888, the hall has been well used and well maintained, with all profits going to local youth organisations and individuals. The hall now requires updating to meet today’s expected standards before it can be used again by the community. We plan to provide a new toilet for the disabled, and refurbish the two remaining toilets. To do this, we need to have a new internal foul drain created. We also plan to replace both the old outdated heating system and windows, with energy saving units, and replace the guttering which is leaking badly.
We have a local nursery who are very keen to make use of this much loved building and we are very keen to accommodate them. Once this has been accomplished, we will again be able to support local young people to achieve their potential or groups of local young people with their activities, as per the Constitution and the wishes of Edwin Gaze who built the hall in memory of his brother Thomas.
