Upminster Park, London Borough of Havering – Play Area Improvements (008087)

Upminster Park is a small to medium park of approximately 17 acres. The park is home to a cricket and football pitches plus tennis courts.
The project is to Improvements and enhance Upminster Park with works to the play area to improve its play provision especially for children with special needs and also increase biodiversity within the Park.
The Play area is an older design and needs updating with improved equipment and especially with a special needs in mind. some improvements have been carried by the Friends group in the past but more is needed. This would involve replacement of some older items and adding to the area with newer equipment that is better placed for children with special needs and some additional path works to ensure accessibility.
The use of the Park itself has not allow for much biodiversity in its layout but this project aims to rectify that through use of raised beds seating areas within the park that would allow better planting to attract insects.
