Upminster Pavilion, London Borough of Havering – Pavilion Redevelopment (007999)

The pavilion is outdated and inefficient and has been outgrown by the sports clubs using it. The building has a poor system of electric heaters, being expensive to run and with high consumption. The aim of this project is to upgrade the existing pavilion facility, to include women’s and girls sports in a safe and enjoyable environment. Currently it is not possible to allow female players to use the changing rooms and shower facilities, due to the proximity to the male toilets and the location of the showers external to the changing room. Double glazing, insulation and solar panels are included in the design to reduce running costs and environmental impact.
