Upminster Windmill – decontamination of of land

Upminster Windmill is a popular and historic building which is located close to Upminster Town Centre. The windmill is undergoing major improvement works and it is the intention of the Council to landscape the ground surrounding the windmill.

However, the land surrounding the windmill is contaminated with lead due to previous uses and this project seeks to carry out works which will decontaaminate the land so as to allow it to be landscaped and made avaiable for public use.
