Upper Garw Valley Habitat Management Scheme

The Nanthir scheme is based on the Upper Garw Valley Biodiversity and Habitat Survey and Management Plan carried out in 2006. Following the recommendations of this report Creation Development Trust worked with Bridgend County Borough Council to design an interpretation. The reclamation grasslands are homogenous and have little reference to the pastoral landscape in which they are set. The area is to be divided up through hedgerow planting and tree planting which are intended to provide improved wildlife potential as green corridors and habitats for species to move along, nest and feed within.
