VGERTA Glasshouse Walk Play Area

The project aims to transform and redesign the underused, unsafe play area, which is part of the Vauxhall Gardens Estate in Prince’s Ward in the London borough of Lambeth. The existing play area is a fenced-in, paved area, approximately 35m x 15m, with swing units and various other equipment, mostly in a state of disrepair. Local residents want the play area to be “a safe, fun environment with a variety of apparatus that the children can use to stretch their imagination. A separate section for older children, with more advanced equipment would be great for keeping busy minds occupied.” (Resident, 2011). In line with the needs of the local residents, we will remove the existing play surface and dilapidated play equipment, repair the damaged fencing, and create a play space
