Victoria Centre External Improvements Project

In October 2015 a Quinquennial inspection was carried out on behalf of the United Reformed Church by Soul Architects. The report highlighted multiple areas to the exterior of the building that are in need of attention, including repairing / replacing parts of the roofing, mortar work, repointing, painting and repairing guttering and window frames, replacing fascia’s, and re-felting flat roof. This essential work needs to be carried out to ensure that the building is safe and watertight. The report included the front entrance to the reception area where some of the wood is rotten and in need of repair. Where the wood has decayed it is letting in water creating damp and mould. The reception area is cold and difficult to heat and the door is not adequate in terms of security. Repairing / repainting this area will not be effective in the long term and we wish to replace the door and wooden structure for a modern PVC double glazed door and fixtures.
