Victoria Hall, Sheffield- Refurbishment (006513)

This project is to improve five rooms at the community hall to make them better rooms for people to meet. Their building is unique and at the heart of Sheffield City Centre and provides a base to a wide range of charities and community groups including ASSIST who support asylum seekers, FaithStar, Plus Me, University of the Third Age, Central Deaf Club and Age Active as well as providing space for regular users such as Drink Wise Age Well, Sheffield Music Hub and The Sunday Centre provides a hot meal for around 90 homeless clients each week. Around 1500 use the building each week and although it is very well used, the rooms we are wanting the improve are in a poor state of repair and let down the excellent work that takes place here. However, as our building is used by small charitable groups supporting many hard to reach groups organisation is limited in the amount of money they can charge so accessing funds to pay for the improvements is not easy from organisation own funds.
