Village Green Upgrade, Burgh by Sands

The project aims to improve an area which has been approved via planning premission to be changed from agricultural land to village green. This is an ongoing project which started with the purchase of the land and will include wildlife and habitat improvement work in the future. This application is to replace the existing cemented walls with a traditional dry stone wall and add railings to an existing low wall, in keeping with the local vernacular style. This area will be included in the proposed anniversary commemoration of the death of Edward I in the parish 700 years ago with a statue of him being commissioned.
