Vine URC Church, Ilford – Building Insulation and Solar Panel installation (007774)

The overall aim of this project is to help move towards zero carbon community building and, through the energy saving measures taken, to increase awareness of and engagement with the project by our user groups and the community in Ilford.
Steos take will be:
1. Reduce gas emissions by 25% compared to 2019 and saving 45%of heat loss in the buildings
2. Increasing energy resilience by installing 4 kW of solar capacity to generate 28% of our electricity.
3. Saving 17% on gas bills and 19% on electricity bills
The energy saving measures we take will:
4. Increase community engagement by involving at least 5 of our user groups in doing DIY work as well as gardening.
5. Support at least 5 churches in local Synod to make energy saving plans for their buildings.
6. Enable at least 4 more community/ youth/ faith groups to use the buildings regularly as the space will be warmer and more inviting.
