Voices of Barrow Hill and Restoration of Signal Box

There are two elements to this project – the first is an oral history project to capture the personal stories of local residents around the working of the Barrow Hill Roundhouse, its closure and restoration and the provision of new interpretative displays at the site. The second is the restoration of a former Pinxton signal box at the Roundhouse site to full working order including connection to mechanical points and signals with interpretation so visitors can learn how mechanical signalling works.
