Volunteer Wardens at Leighton Moss

Trainee volunteer warden on site to assist with management & improvement of the reserve. The trainee warden will receive training in land management techniques as well as chainsaw, tractor & brushcutter training. This will give them the skills and qualifications required to work in conservation and reserve management.
The warden duties / activities during their time on the reserve will be: maintainence of visitor facilities eg hides/paths, Butterfly Management on Warton Crag, Reed Planting, Species Monitoring and Summer & Winter Reed Cutting. All these activities contribute to and help to improve the visitor experience to the reserve through providing well maintained facilities and also maintaining habitat and biodiversity.
