Wainstalls Community Path

Wainstalls is a small isolated hilltop community 3.5 miles from Halifax on the edge of the Pennine Moors. It is 1000ft above sea level, part of a loose ‘cluster’ of village adjoining one of the 10% most deprived wards. A public footpath will be upgraded into a fully accessible ‘safer route’ (wheelchair users, pushchairs, pre-school and the elderly) whilst denying motorbike access. This will link vital services in the adjoining villages (pub, school, community centre, recreation ground, bus terminus), reduce congestion at peak times and encourage level, interesting, off road walking for health – as an integral part of a wider local route.
