Wallbridge Channel, Stroud – Canal Restoration (1957/D)

The projects aims to create a 400m navigable stretch of canal by dredging the channel from Lodgemore Lane to Wallbridge Lower Lock, Wallbridge, Stroud. This channel is on the line of the original Thames and Severn Canal but has become heavily silted and contaminated since the canal was abandoned in the 1950’s.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the costs of the canal restoration.
