Warburton’s Wood Access and Infrastructure Project Phase 1

Project Aim:
• To provide safe access allowing the local community to continue to enjoy the woodland
• To encourage people to become involved in the management of their local woodland

Cheshire Wildlife Trust is seeking funding to repair and install quality access and interpretation throughout the woodland. Due to the extent of the work required it will be undertaken in two phases. This application is to initiate the project and begin phase 1. Phase 1 of the project will create approximately 50 volunteering opportunities all of which will include training in construction techniques. As well as these being available to core CWT volunteers and to local users of the park, CWT will build on its new project, Natural Futures, which aims to encourage more people to become involved in volunteering for nature. We would also seek to capitalise on the volunteering interest generated from the Poors Wood projects. Phase 1 work will include the repair of 6 metres of bridges and 110 metres of steps.
