Warstock Community Centre, Birmingham – Renovation & Improvements (40112/D)

The Centre was built in the 1980s on a limited budget. The main hall has become tired and has a high suspended ceiling with panels, fluorescent strip lights, and limited yellow fibreglass insulation above the ceiling – much of which has turned to dust. The hall also has draughtly single glazed windows with (somewhat rotten) wooden frames. The project aims to replace the ceiling with a solid plasterboard ceiling on a frame, simultaneously insert efficient recessed LED lighting, and replace the windows with double glazed A rated UPVC windows. The project will also involve removing the remaining ineffective ceiling insulation and replacing it with 170mm of insulation. The Trust grant is a contribution towards the Centre renovation.
