Washington Water Quality project

The project will create a borehole which will feed clean water into WWT Washington Wetland Centre’s general water system, hence improving water quality and increasing levels of wetland biodiversity on site. The project works will involve drilling a borehole and installing a pump to extract high quality groundwater. This water will be fed into the Washington water system on a daily basis. Testing will be undertaken to determine the level of improvement in the water quality. Surveys will be carried out to assess the impact the project has on water dependent biodiversity, particularly in the immediate locality of the borehole.
