Wat Phra Singh UK, Runcorn – Windows, Doors and Peace Garden (007758)

The project has two complimentary elements, both designed to enhance the user experience, and to attract new users. The Energy Efficiency Measures are designed to create a warmer, more inviting internal environment within the existing building by upgrading 20 windows from a total of 48 windows in the building. These were chosen as they provide the most benefit in the publicly accessible areas. In addition replacing the main access doors to provide better draughtproofing and increased security. These measures will reduce the carbon footprint, and reduce the future energy costs.
The Peace Garden creates a new publicly accessible community space on an area of land adjacent to the temple that is currently unusable. The local authority are supportive of this, and are providing some funding.
