Watchtree Compostng Toilets

The project is to construct composting toilets in a remote area of the Watchtree reserve. The area is extensively used by visitors to the site and is some distance away from the Visitor Centre. The Composting Toilets will replace two temporary ‘Portaloo’ units. The toilets are also of benefit when the Visitor Centre is closed but Watchtree members and field workers still access the nature reserve. The Nature Reserve is open to visitors 7 days per week between 0900 hours and 1700 hours but members can access the site outwith these hours.
