Water for Waders at Amberley Wildbrooks

Site is an SSSI, SPA and Ramsar site, especially important for lapwing, redshank and snipe – (only breeding population in Sussex). Through this project we will install water management structures – pipe-sluices – at ten key locations across the brooks. These will allow us to keep the remnant peat bog damp, whilst also allowing us to drop levels after the breeding season and manage the site effectively for the winter and following spring using machinery.
