Water Vole Conservation in Suffolk

To conserve the Water Vole through out Suffolk by extending the Mink control programme to the 7 principle river catchments of the Alde, Blyth, Deben, Gipping, Little Ouse, Lark and Stour rivers. The Water Vole is a priority species in the UK Biodiversity Action Plan and the Environment Agency has taken the lead role in conserving this species. Suffolk Wildlife Trust's conservation programme has been successful but it needs to be maintained and extended to all principle rivers otherwise the Mink will return to previously cleared areas. This is a single species Da project covering seven linked and specified areas of the river catchments.
