Water voles on the Cotswold rivers

The project will seek to increase water vole numbers on key Cotswold rivers by working with landowners to improve riparian habitat and eradicate American mink. The project will be initated by a re-survey of a number of watercourses in the Cotswolds which were last surveyed in 1997/98 for signs of the water vole. The findings of this exercise will be used to target on-the-ground conservation work including pollarding, reed planting and improvements to river bank structure.
