Waterfoot – Edgeside Park Wheeled Sports Facility

It is the only park in the area and contains a small children’s play area and MUGA. The park is surrounded by the natural assets of hills and moors but is in need of substantial investment and has been chosen by Rossendale Borough Council as the first park in their Love Parks initiative. The vision is to upgrade the park to offer something for local people of all ages. The masterplan for the park has been developed after extensive consultation with local residents and community groups. The applicants wish to provide a neighbourhood park that is attractive and addresses the needs of young and old alike. A new and more inclusive skate park will help to tackle low levels of health and physical activity in children and adults, and this will benefit groups that were previously unable to use it.
