Waterloo Methodist Energy & Acoustic Improvement Scheme

The architectural design of the church is not environmentaly friendly or energy efficient. we do not want the rising cost of energy to affect the ability of community user groups or church members from using the building. A high vaulted ceiling, poor heating system and single glazed windows are the key items that need to be changed. In addition, the high ceiling also makes it difficult for anyone to hear when people speak or sing. User groups complain about the sound quality when music is played or when people speak. It is difficult for the elderly to benefit from the activities in the church because of the poor acoustics
Our objective is to make moderate alterations to rectify the above by:
Lowering the ceiling using acoustic insulated tiles.
Replace the windows with double glazed units.
Replace the lighting.
Replace the heating system.
