Watermead Park Restoration project

The coppicing of willow around the lakes in the park which will help restore the balance in habitats. This will greatly improve one of Leicester’s most important green corridors, i.e. its riverside. The project will enhance a local priority BAP of floodplain wetland and contribute towards a national priority BAP habitat of reedbed and fern. The project is currently registered with Groundwork Leicester and Leicestershire (733035.024) as a three year project.
