Wat’s Dyke Way – Flintshire

The provision of a ‘walks guide’ publication, website and waymarkers on a section of the dyke running through Flintshire. The repair of the Wat’s Dyke Way throughout its length is not feasible, but this scheme has allowed repair of sections and these are to be incorporated within circular walking routes. It is anticipated that it will be possible to include 3/4 such circular routes in Flintshire.
The Wat’s Dyke Way extends through Flintshire into Wrexham and then Shropshire and is comparable of Offa’s Dyke. A similiar ancient boundary marker (England – Wales) and fortification. (This particular project is by The Wat’s Dyke Way Associatioin but there has been considerable local authority input into restoration and preservation).
Note. Post codes and single NGR cannot be given; OS Landranger 117 – NGR232685 or 253658 are examples of the mention of the Dyke.
