weed clearance at Tupholme Abbey

There is a growing problem with nettles and thistles at Tupholme Abbey which is now seriously compromising public acess during the summer months including to the circular walk and to the picnic area. Heritage Lincolnshire also holds regular events at the site which are open to all and completely free of charge. It is now a matter of urgency that the weeds are treated in order to maintain and promote public enjoyment of the site and to allow events to continue to take place. We are advised that the most effective solution is by weed wiping. Although we would expect to reduce the problem significantly with one treatment, the weeds may require subsequent treatment depending on the outcome. the project allows for up to three treatments.
