Weeke Community Centre, Winchester - Flooring (006483)

Weeke Community Centre is a thriving community centre that provides activities and services to people on the Weeke and Harestock estates of Winchester, and in the surrounding neighbourhoods. It provides services without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions. Its aims are to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation. The centre facilities are used by a wide range of people and is largely run by volunteers. The building remains in constant demand (it was built in the 1950s) and in recent years there has been a significant increase in hall usage, covering a wide range of community groups. The main hall, the roof and the small multi function hall and adjacent areas are in urgent need of repair and renewal.
