Welcome Centre, Plaistow - New Windows (2902/D)

The project will replace two leaking skylights and a large panel of windows and french doors in the Welcome Centre at the back of the church building. This is a 1970s extension and, although in poor condition, it is a large, light space that is used by different community projects. In 2012 we made it much more usable by renovating the 1970s toilets and adding a ramp and accessible doorways to the back of the building, but the budget didn't stretch to other refurbishment. Now the skylights are leaking badly and increased use of the french doors, as we sited a small community food garden in the small outside area last year, has shown how insecure and worn-out they are.
