Welcome to Falkland Estate

This project is aimed at providing a welcoming and safer entrance to Falkland Estate for walkers. Falkland Estate receives many visitors every day of the week (estimates around 200,000 visits per year). The gates at the East Lodge are currently the most popular entrance for both cars and walkers. Currently walkers have to either walk on the road or the verge once the pavement ends, some 90 metres from the Estate entrance and have to share an entrance with vehicles, which is not ideal, particularly at weekends when there can be multiple walking groups looking to enter/exit at the same time as cars.
Our proposal is two fold:
1. Create a safe pathway from the pavement to the new Information Centre at the Stables.
2. Create a link to the historical Palace walk from the car park through the provision of a bridge and small pathway. The bridge will be checked by a civil engineer.
The project will be delivered by a contractor.
