Projects / Well Close Garden Revitalisation

Well Close Garden Revitalisation

Our aim is to enhance the existing mature garden by creating a wildlife garden which will provide a year round habitat to attract birds, bats, bees and other pollinators, butterflies and small mammals. Flowers, blossom, berries and fruit, grasses and native plant species as well as the established trees will be part of the environment. We also wish to have a small wild life pond & wetland area for attracting frogs, toads, newts, dragon and damsel flies. Making available the edible garden (started last year), greenhouse (funding secured) and proposed wildlife garden will be part of our active support for the Food for Life programme for schools.
The garden was successful in winning the Cheltenham in Bloom Gold award for community gardens and an award in the Heart of England neighbourhood campaign in 2011.
