Wellgate Community Farm, Romford - Replacement Toilet Block (006019)

This project will remove the current irreparable toilets and replace with a building designed to suit the needs of all users. The new building, fixtures and fittings will be appropriate to the use it will get on this busy farm. The addition of a green roof, rain water collection, recycled mineral wool insulation, thermo-wood cladding, solar assisted heat pump hot water systems and solar external lighting, will ensure the building is as ecologically friendly as possible. It will enable the Farm to continue to be a focus for the community, creating an opportunity for people to grow, make a positive contribution and promote social cohesion through education, training, therapy, social interaction and physical activity within a working farm environment. This includes free daily access for visitors, and volunteering opportunities with animals, horticulture, recycling, maintenance and administration work.
