Wembdon Community Room Project

We will fit out a room in our village hall to provide a safe, supervised meeting place for young people from Wembdon and Bridgwater who have nowhere to meet and some of whom have been getting into trouble with the police because of anti-social behaviour and vandalism. The room will also be available for other community groups and organisations.

We will use local tradesmen who will donate their time and skills.
Bridgwater College wants to use our space to give their vocational students building work experience on a ‘real life’ project.

We need to raise money for building materials and to install a lift.

We will have to install underfloor heating, screed the floor, install studwork and plasterboard + doors and skirting to create store rooms. We need to provide a water supply, wiring and lighting and fire alarms, IT cabling and CCTV. We also need a suspended ceiling and insulation. The staircase needs to be finished and eventually we will need tables, chairs and other furniture.
