Wensleydale Railway – Resurfacing Leeming Bar Station Platform

The Wensleydale Railway Association Trust is the charitable arm of Wensleydale Railway, a 22-mile heritage railway in the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire. The railway provides nostalgia, heritage and family days out through spectacular scenery to the local community, tourists & transport enthusiasts. The current station platform surface at Leeming Bar Station is made from compacted crush & run gravel. This results in a rough and uneven surface that is patchy in places and creates numerous potential trip hazards to visitors. This project will provide a new platform surface that is uniform, level, non-slip/trip, providing safe, easy use and access by all visitors and especially wheelchair users and people with mobility challenges.
