West Croydon Baptist Church – Access for All

West Croydon Baptist Church is Grade II listed and has a large basement hall underneath the chapel. At present there is no satisfactory access for wheelchair users and those with ambulant disabilities. There are steep steps up to all entrances to the Chapel and steps down to the basement hall. The entrance will be widened and space created to form a new staircase and lift to the chapel. Also a small platform lift will provide disabled access to the basement hall. This will extend its usefulness for its own lively multicultural congregation and other congregations that we host and will enable the church to develop its potential to be used as a community musical venue and to retain the viability of the basement hall and extend its usefulness for church and community events.
