West End Play Area

The refurbishment of this neglected rundown play area was instigated by David, a local 14 year old. The proposed plans for the junior area encourage biodiversity and take advantage of mature trees already on site using natural play elements, i.e. mounds, swales and un-mown grassy areas, forming a context for innovative and inclusive play equipment. While keeping some of the existing equipment in the toddler area there will be some new exciting pieces of kit selected by children through consultation.
We also aim to address antisocial behaviour problems associated with the park through some educational outreach youth work to be delivered by newground youth workers.
